Virginia Tech vs Alabama | Expert Sports Handicappers

Even with all of the years having a Vick at quarterback, the Virginia Tech Hokies have never started a season ranked as high as their number seven spot this year. They should savor the pre-season flavor, because all of that is likely to come to an end Saturday night in Atlanta, as Alabama returns to the Georgia Dome for opening night, a building where they dismantled the Georgia Bulldogs on opening weekend last season.

The Crimson Tide, ranked 5th in the country, come in with a massive chip in their shoulder for such a highly ranked team, a chip born from the humiliation of getting man-handled by Utah in the Sugar Bowl last year, hot on the heels of the Tide’s deflating loss to eventual national champion Florida in the SEC title game.

For a team that lost its quarterback, Alabama does not have too much to be terribly concerned about. After all, they won and lost games last year on the back of their third-ranked defense, a squad that returns eight

My Bulldog Drinks Fiji Water

Both PETA and the SPCA would be proud of me for the way my Bulldog lives, though obtaining their approval has never been high on my list of goals.  It all started the other day when my wife came home with a six pack of Fiji water.  I don’t know why water from the myriad of sources in the United States is not adequate, but after many years of marriage I learned the Golden Rule for husbands: “Don’t ask.”

For your information, Fiji is an island nation in the South Pacific Ocean east of Vanuatu, west of Tonga and south of Tuvalu.  I know that nailed it for me, but in case you are less geographically knowledgeable let me add that Fiji is about 4776 miles from Los Angeles and a couple thousand more to Georgia.

I was getting a glass of water from the door of our refrigerator through a filter that has needed changing for six months when my wife said our Bulldog wanted water.  After washing his bowl she filled it with the aforementioned Fiji water.  Let’s go

(Editor’s Note: All of the team rankings for this opening article are based on the Top 25 Preseason Coaches’ Poll, and the Sagarin Ratings, Jeff Sagarin’s factual, mathematical ratings among competition between all 245 Division 1 teams.)

Brigham Young, Boise State, Alabama and Oklahoma State were college football’s biggest winners in the opening week of the NCAA season.

No. 20-ranked Brigham Young (BYU) used a late 4th quarter touchdown to upset No. 3-ranked Oklahoma, 14-13, and all but obliterated Oklahoma’s hopes for a dream season. The Sooners, who lost to Florida 24-14 in last year’s National Championship Game, returned the 2008 Heisman Trophy winner—quarterback Sam Bradford.

Bradford strained his throwing shoulder in the closing seconds of the first half on a hard, clean, highlight-reel hit by BYU linebacker Coleby Clawson; Bradford watched the second half from the sidelines. Bradford’s backup, Landry Jones,

Sleeper BCS College Football Teams

Tribute to the 2007 Sugar Bowl Champion Georgia Bulldogs! *I do not own any of these videos, ESPN and CBS do!*

Sleeper BCS College Football Teams

Predicting a sleeper team is always dicey. You know some of the teams have the potential but you do not know enough. Likewise, there are some teams that look promising this year and here are the reasons why: -

Oklahoma State Cowboys – Watching the Cowboys now might remind you of the position Texas Tech was in last year. Not only does Oklahoma have the experience but they also have a massive offense lineup this season, which might prove to be unstoppable. All they have to do now is defeat Georgia in Stillwater to have a 7-0 on October 31st when they will host Texas. Only Bedlam in Oklahoma remains beyond that – the season finale.

Georgia Bulldog – People might not think much of them at the moment but they do have the potential in the BCS race. Even though they do not have last season’s great quarterback and running back, they might make a come back this year.

They have a very strong defense this year and everyone’s overlooking their

SEC Football Predictions 2010

The SEC is college football’s premier conference with powerhouses such as Florida and Alabama leading the way. In this article, I have made my predictions on how I see the SEC playing out this year. If you would like to see my predictions for all the college football conferences, make sure you check out my 2010 college football predictions preview.

SEC East Predictions
1. Florida Gators – The Gators won’t have one of college football’s all-time greats under center this season, but they still have the most talent in their side of the league. QB John Brantley has big shoes to fill, but he will benefit from playing behind one of the best lines in the league and having a number of talented weapons at his disposal.

Georgia Bulldogs Tickets – Will Moreno Skyrocket Himself Into the Nfl?

It was his meeting with Kade Weston, a defensive tackle Red Bank Regional High that changed his life forever. He signed with Georgia and invited his friend to his school. So in spring of ’06 Knowshon Moreno took a train south, he never knew that his life would never remain the same. “It was a ride to Georgia, he fell in love with the school straight away and he knew that it was the place for him. Since then there has been no looking back for Moreno.

Georgia had a very disappointing season this time around. After topping the consensus preseason they only managed to finish the regular season 9-3. The Bulldogs will be facing Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl. Moreno is leading the SEC in rushing with 1,395 yards (116.3 per game, which is 13th best in the country) which is makes him only the second player in Georgia history to run for more than 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons, the other player being Herschel Walker. Moreno is a finalist for the Doak
